Celebrating Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s 90th Birthday!
Since 1989, Cedille Records has released nearly 40 vocal albums featuring more than 50 different soloists and ensembles. The Ruth Bader Ginsburg Fund for Vocal Recordings honors the late Justice’s love of vocal music — the music and its performers, and her support of Cedille Records. The Fund will support Cedille’s release of at least one vocal album each year.
We celebrate what would have been the Justice’s (the mother of Cedille Records’ founder and President James Ginsburg) 90th birthday, on March 15, 2023, with a playlist of pieces she loved (or would have loved in the case of the opera we just released), beginning with two songs that touch on her personally and including five (out of 15) selections by women composers. We hope you will enjoy them in her honor and memory!
