Alexander Hanna

Alexander Hanna is Principal Bass of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since his appointment by Riccardo Muti in 2012. His mission to inspire listeners has taken him throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia as a soloist, chamber musician, section leader, and educator. Hanna is a professor at DePaul University, coaches the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and teaches privately through the Sphinx Organization and Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative.
