From the Illinois Philharmonic's press release announcing its May 12, 2012 concert "A Night at the Opera"

A Night At The Opera will also include a presentation of the orchestra's most prestigious award - the Ruth D. and Ken M. Davee Excellence in the Arts Award. Each year, the orchestra's Board of Directors presents this award to honor an individual, group of individuals, or organization whose exceptional commitment, vision, leadership and achievements have resulted in major contributions to the arts and music throughout the state and/or nationally. This year's recipient of the Ruth D. and Ken M. Davee Excellence in the Arts Award will be James Ginsburg, the founder of Cedille Records and The Chicago Classical Recording Foundation.

Over the past twenty years, Cedille Records has documented for posterity on audiophile-quality recordings the work of important Chicago composers, and Chicago musicians ranging from soloists to chamber ensembles, orchestras, choruses, and the Chicago Opera Theater. It is Chicago's only independent classical label, and the only label devoted to classical musicians of a single metropolitan area. Mr. Ginsburg personally directs Cedille Records' recording sessions, and has produced over 100 recordings for Cedille and other labels, including two Grammy nominees.
